Dordt University Theatre Arts Mission Statement:
The Dordt University Theatre Arts Department seeks to glorify God through the full use of our God given skills, ability and knowledge.
We are an educational community where all (faculty, staff, students and community) are challenged and inspired to seek truth: creating new faces for old stories that mirror, question, and enliven our world.
We seek to develop theatre artists who will serve and transform culture through the faithful use of their creative gifts. We strive to produce work that is good, true and beautiful; challenging our community, and ourselves, to see the brokenness of humanity in this sinful world, but also to see the truth found in the grace of God.
We serve God, the ultimate creator, and produce theatre that displays the word made flesh, done to his glory alone.
- We give our students the experience of acting in and designing shows (sets, costumes, props, lighting, sound, hair/makeup, marketing).
- We are incredibly thankful for donations of any size so that we may keep the love of the arts alive! Any money raised will go directly into our theatre fund to cover costs of scenic supplies, costumes, makeup and hair products, props, lighting accessories, and more!
We are so grateful for the Defender Nation, and we look forward to what the future holds for it is bright! God will provide, as He always does!
